The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Akuapem Mampong District Welfare Committee has organised a one-day recreational trip for management, staff and their families as part of efforts to promote employee well-being, strengthen teamwork and recognise staff dedication.

The trip, held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Safari Eco Valley Resort, provided staff with an opportunity to relax after six months of dedicated service while reviewing the district's performance during the first half of the year.

The event brought together management and staff in a relaxed environment that encouraged networking, social interaction and stronger working relationships outside the office.

The initiative forms part of the district's commitment to promoting work-life balance and maintaining a motivated workforce capable of delivering quality service to customers.

Speaking at the event, the District Manager, Ellen Agyekum, commended staff for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to ensuring the district consistently achieves its operational targets and contributes to ECG's overall success.

She said the recreational trip was organised not only to reward staff for their hard work but also to show management's appreciation for their invaluable contributions to the growth and performance of the district.

Madam Agyekum noted that staff motivation remains a key priority in improving organisational performance and encouraged employees to maintain their dedication and teamwork.

She assured staff that management would continue to recognise and reward excellence while urging them to prioritise their physical and mental well-being, stressing that a healthy workforce is essential for increased productivity and effective service delivery.

According to her, taking periodic breaks from work helps employees recharge, improve their mental well-being and return to their duties with renewed energy and innovative ideas.

"It is important to occasionally take a break from the demands of work to relax, refresh the mind and spend quality time with colleagues and family. Such opportunities inspire creativity, innovation and renewed energy to perform our duties effectively," she said.

During the trip, staff toured several attractions at Safari Eco Valley Resort, including giant anthills, the wildlife sanctuary, scenic nature trails, botanical gardens, birdwatching sites and other eco-tourism attractions.

The outing provided an opportunity for employees to strengthen relationships, interact outside the workplace and spend quality time with their families.

Staff expressed appreciation to the District Management and the Welfare Committee for organising the programme, describing it as refreshing, rewarding and motivating as they prepare for the second half of the year.
