Watch as galamseyer threatens to attack government officials

A galamsey operator at Ahafo Kukuom has been captured in a viral video threatening to attack government officials after the destruction of his illegal mining site by the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS).

In a video shared on X by We Love Ghana on July 9, 2026, the man claimed that the operation had left him and others without jobs after their equipment was destroyed.

According to him, the destruction of their mining equipment has pushed them into desperation.

“They burned the tools we use to work and destroyed our galamsey site. Now we're jobless. The government should be ready because we'll arm ourselves and attack any government officials we see,” he said.

The operator's remarks come after NAIMOS intensified its crackdown on illegal mining activities, destroying equipment and dismantling unauthorised mining sites as part of efforts to combat galamsey across the country.

Meanwhile, netizens have called for his arrest by mandated security agencies.
