President Mahama stopped to check on the incident
President John Dramani Mahama has earned praise from Ghanaians after he was seen stopping his convoy at the scene of an accident on the Mahama Road while returning home.
A video recorded by a passerby and sighted by GhanaWeb on July 10, 2026, shows the president stepping out of his vehicle and standing by the roadside with his security team near the accident scene.
The footage also shows what appears to be a damaged vehicle parked by the roadside after the crash.

According to the passerby, the vehicle had been moved off the main road to prevent traffic congestion.
She said President Mahama's convoy arrived at the scene shortly afterwards and stopped, allowing members of his team to assess the situation and offer assistance.
“I don’t know what’s happening on the Mahama Road, Airport Hills, but for some reason after whatever happened, they pushed the vehicle to the side. Shortly after, there was a motorcade coming through… and I knew Mahama was in it, and guess what, Mahama stopped. He is a gentleman.
“The president was on his way home from somewhere, and he saw that the accident had happened and then he stopped,” she narrated in the video.
