Ghana Police Service joins nationwide clean-up exercise
The Ghana Police Service has announced its readiness to lead personnel across the country in the two-day National General Cleaning Exercise aimed at restoring sanitation, clearing blocked drains and supporting efforts to prevent future flooding.
The exercise, which begins on July 10, 2026, is being organised under the auspices of the Post-Flood Mitigation Committee following the devastating June 29, 2026, floods that affected parts of the country, particularly the Greater Accra Region.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service and other security agencies will participate in the first phase of the exercise alongside Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and waste management companies.

Members of the public are expected to join the clean-up activities as authorities seek to encourage greater citizen participation in maintaining clean and safe communities.
The national clean-up exercise is being held under the theme "Our Actions, Our Future: Cleaning Ghana after the floods, with the aim of promoting environmental responsibility and reducing the impact of future flooding disasters.
