By the way, the Ghanaweb article is not accurate. Okatakyie Afrifa didn't write to Acheampong in 1979. His letter is dated 1977. Acheampong and Utuka were executed on 16th June 1979. SIX other senior military officers, including Afrifa, were executed on 26th June 1979.

In that letter he asked Acheampong to eliminate Rawlings and his coup planners who were arrested at the time. His reason was that he had been to mystics in India who foretold him that somebody like Rawlings would come to kill all of them including him Acheampong.
The letter was widely published in the media at the time.
