Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel is calling on businesses to incorporate healthier food choices into workplace culture, arguing that sustainability should extend beyond environmental protection to include community wellness.

Speaking during The GreenStay Initiative themed “Healthy Food Options: Not an Option” on July 10, 2026, Isaac Okpoti Adjei, General Manager of the hotel, said wellness and sustainability are interconnected, stressing that responsible resource management should also promote healthier lifestyles.

“Generally, people think wellness and sustainability are not related, but we believe that sustainability is not only about our natural resources and our environment; it is also about promoting wellness and good health in communities,” he said.

According to him, all Ghanaian suppliers of the hotel are certified, while its quality assurance team conducts quarterly visits to supplier farms to ensure food is produced in line with required standards.

He also highlighted the importance of aligning food choices with people’s lifestyles, noting that physically active workers may require energy-dense meals, while sedentary workers need more balanced portions.

He said the initiative forms part of efforts to encourage businesses and food operators to develop healthier menus that support productivity and employee wellbeing.
