Ellembelle NPP delegates back sitting Constituency Chairman
A group of 750 delegates in the Ellembelle Constituency of the Western Region on Friday, July 10, 2026 declared their support for incumbent NPP Constituency Chairman, Sampson Ndoli alias "Chairman One Man", ahead of the constituency executive elections scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Nkroful.
Over 1,000 delegates are expected to vote in the 4-way contest. The race will feature the incumbent, Sampson Ndoli alias "Chairman One Man", who was given the mandate in 2022, alongside Jacob Kwofie, Lord Armah, and Iddrisu Ackah.
The three challengers are new faces in the race and are expected to campaign on messages of change, unity, and new strategy to make Ellembelle an NPP seat.
The contest comes as the NPP intensifies grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Francis Cudjoe, Polling Station Chairman at Aiyinasi Methodist Church A, described the incumbent as affable, kind-hearted and a great communicator.
"Sampson Ndoli is affable, kind-hearted and a great communicator who understands Ellembelle politics and knows every corner of the constituency. If the delegates re-elect him, he would unite the rank and file of the party with his experience. He will also use his expertise and experience to support the party to elect a unifier parliamentary candidate to snatch the Ellembelle parliamentary seat from the NDC in 2028", Cudjoe stated.
He added that Ellembelle NPP has presented Kwasi Bonzoh as parliamentary candidate on four occasions — 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 and lost all.
He said the party needs to come together to select a new candidate who can win the seat for them in 2028.
Francis Cudjoe also advised delegates not to allow themselves to be influenced by money to vote against the incumbent Chairman.
Chairman's Pledge
Earlier, Sampson Ndoli stated on a local radio station that he would not impose any parliamentary candidate on the party members.
"If God willing and I win, I will never impose any parliamentary candidate on the party but allow the NPP members to elect their choice so that we could go to the 2028 election with the united front. My main priority is to unite the party and bring everybody on board. We need to win the Ellembelle parliamentary seat in 2028 and I will dedicate all my time and resources for the NPP to win in 2028 and also help Dr Bawumia to win in Ellembelle Constituency", Chairman One Man stated.
The delegates noted that since 1992, the NPP has not won the Ellembelle parliamentary seat, and they believe Chairman One Man has the structures needed to change that history.
With a major delegate bloc already behind him, all eyes will be on whether Chairman One Man can translate the endorsement into victory at Nkroful on Sunday.
Some political pundits in Ellembelle Constituency have tipped Sampson Ndoli to retain his position.
