Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackah-Boafo is a supreme court judge
Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackah-Boafo of the Supreme Court has said that introducing live broadcasts of court proceedings will require investment in technology and infrastructure.
He said although he supports the idea, practical challenges must first be addressed.
“If we are to have a website, a webcam that can stream live will bring in the money and financial issues.”
He said Ghana’s courts currently lack the resources to implement such a system.
“If we have the financial means, which we don’t, we should have the opportunity to live-stream some of these,” he said on JoyNews’ The Law.
Justice Ackah-Boafo maintained that live streaming could be introduced for selected proceedings once the necessary infrastructure is available.
