Legal scholar, Stephen Kwaku Asare, popularly known as Kwaku Azar, has criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over its reaction to the arrest of party communicator, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

In a Facebook post shared on July 13, 2026, Kwaku Azar questioned why some party communicators were focusing on political retaliation instead of demanding accountability over the alleged loss of public funds.

"EOCO says ₵55M has been looted. Your reaction isn’t, 'Recover every pesewa.' Rather, it’s, 'One day the tables will turn.' Wei!" he stated.

His comments come after some NPP communicators warned that actions taken by the current government against opposition figures could be revisited should the party return to power.
