Fire service personnel treated and took the victims to the hospital
Three people have died while 15 others sustained injuries following a road crash at Juaso on the Kumasi-Accra Highway in the Ashanti Region.
The accident occurred at about 9:39am on Sunday, July 13, 2026, at the Juaso Three-Lane near Next Bon Gas.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the crash involved a Shackman F3000 truck with registration number GN 9673-25, loaded with clinker and driven by Stephen Amankwah, and a Dongfeng van with registration number GM 4002-26, driven by Ebenezer Nyame.
“The emergency call prompted a swift response from rescue crews. The collision involved a Shackman F3000 truck with registration number GN9673-25, driven by Mr. Stephen Amankwah and loaded with clinker, and a Dongfeng Van with registration GM4002-26, driven by Mr. Nyame Ebenezer,” portions of the statement read.
Providing details of the casualties, the GNFS said a total of 18 people were involved in the collision.
Three people, comprising two men and one woman, were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining 15 sustained varying degrees of injury.
“Eighteen persons were involved in total. Three persons — two males and one female — were reported dead at the scene. Fifteen others sustained various degrees of injury,” the service added.
Personnel from the Konongo-Odumase and Juaso Fire Stations responded to the emergency and recovered the bodies of the three deceased, who were handed over to the Juaso Police.
The GNFS said the two drivers and the other 13 injured victims had already been rescued by members of the public before the arrival of the fire crews.
They were subsequently transported to the Juaso Government Hospital for treatment.
“The two drivers and the remaining thirteen injured persons were rescued by the public before the crew arrived and were transported to Juaso Government Hospital for urgent treatment,” the service said.

The service further disclosed that the truck sustained partial damage to its cowl, while the Dongfeng van suffered extensive damage to its windscreen and engine compartment.
Meanwhile, the GNFS are yet to establish the cause of the accident.
