For those who don’t know, Charcoal has medicinal values too. It is an absorbent that is used to treat poisonous issues and it is very effective.
Growing up in the rainforest of Ghana where people walked long distances along Footpaths, snakebites from the Cobra, the Green Mamba, especially where fruits grow were very common. People bitten by snakes were encouraged to treat large amounts of Charcoal from burnt trees and swallow it. Incisions were also made at the bitten place and liquid from chewed Charcoal was pumped from the mouth to the bitten area. Other herbal medicines were applied.
Also, if someone gets poisoned or drinks poison, the person was made to chew large amounts of charcoal to help cure the person.
The charcoal was mixed with the Drugs so that the Police, Customs, and Investigative Dogs cannot smell and detect the Drugs. I am glad those criminals have been apprehended. It will be good if they are Sentenced to 25 years Imprisonment without the possibility of a Parole. They will die in Prison or by the time they are released, their wives would have been dead, grown very old, or would have remarried. I just don’t understand why some people can be that greedy with crime.
Those involved should be made to do their Prison Time in Ghana but not at Nsawam. Ho, Koforidua or Tamale Prison will be the best place for them.
