Ayariga's argument makes sense but in a situation where the prolonged absence of the affected mp is depriving his constituency of Parliamentary representation the larger intesrest of the people must be taken into considration. The sit should be declared vacant or there should be some form of constitutional arrangement for the people to be represented by someone in an interem position for a period of time after which there could be byelections. But for the people to wait endlessly for the mp's issue to be determined is unacceptable, because that'll rather seek to prioritize the personal interest of the individual over those of his constituents. Meanwhile, too many people with shady characters seek to be mps. Very unfortunate.

The constitution says 15 sitting days, is ayariga claiming to know better than the hundreds of Ghanaians who put the constitution together? .mr ayariga don't put words in the mouth of the constitution? The constitution could have said 15 sitting days 'except' facing trial. So please follow the constitution exactly wat it says and declare the seat vacant. Who presents his constituency? What Ayariga is saying is that if the trial goes on for two years the constituency will have no MP. Is this not serious? He continues to take his monthly salary as MP for no work done. Ghanaians is this right. Is why an MP must live a honourable life. And the constituencies must investigate persons who want to represent them well before the vote for them. He has money and sponsoring the youth to school and etc. How did he come by his money. Some people in the constituency knew he is involved in internet fraud that is why NPP rejected him and he resigned and went independent.

This issue needs to be taken to Supreme Court for determination.
