Tuchel made very poor decisions after England scored. The only way to keep Argentina pinned back is unrelenting attacking football. We saw this in the games against Cape Verde, Egypt and Switzerland. What Tuchel should have done even if he was going to play a back 5 was to bring on more offensive players like Saka, Rashford, and Toney to give Argentina something to worry about at the back. With fresh offensive England players on, Argentina would have needed to defend a bit more and it would have slowed down the way they were constantly attacking England for over 30 minutes, and increased England's chances of scoring at least 1-2 more goals.

Honestly I’ve been a big admirer of Tuchel but yesterday just madness. If he had pulled off a successful defensive performance that would have been legendary, but that is the thin line in football that makes you either a clown or a genius. He failed to heed the warnings. For this match alone he deserves the sack 1000% cos he was exactly brought in to help them win this WC. It’s not the loss but the way they lost it: through cowardly anti football.
