The keys to success or financial security are:
1.HONEST HARD WORK. HONESTY OR INTEGRITY are vital because that is what will allow a person to build their success on FIRM GROUND so that it lasts. (Remember that there are no shortcuts to great success or wealth, taking shortcuts to riches will lead to big trouble and if you don't believe me just ask Abu Trica and co). Wealth or success built on a foundation of HONESTY or INTEGRITY tends to last.
2.PATIENCE, PERSEVERANCE AND TENACITY: if you want to become very successful or have great wealth then you must be prepared to build this brick by brick over years . Anything worthwhile in this world TAKES TIME to achieve. and this takes us to the next important point.
3.STRATEGY: It is not enough to patience and tenacity (staying power). You must have strategy or a plan that will work. You must also have REALISTIC GOALS that you set yourself. Ask yourself what you hope to achieve in 5 years ,in 10 years in 15 years, in 20 years and plan a road map to do so. Successful people constantly check their progress and adjust as THEY LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES AND CONSTANTLYY PLAN AHEAD.
4.FOCUS AND DISCIPLINE: This is where many hardworking people fall by the wayside. They work very hard but as soon as they start getting profits the first thing they do is to go out and spend it, show off and try to impress people. Smart people do not do not allow themselves to fall into that trap but instead save their profits and use it to grow or expand the business. These wise people resist the temptation to increase their spending on unnecessary things when their profits rise. THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANT WEALTH-BUILDING PRINCIPLE CALLED “DELAYED GRATIFICATION”: They deny themselves enjoyment today so that they can build better ,more solid success story or higher wealth base in the future.
5.HANDLING MONEY WISELY: Point 4 above already deals with some of these but it is vital to learn as soon as possible how to budget, economize and LIVE FRUGALY especially at the start of your business career of vocation. There are many very high-income earners who have very little in the bank and have no tangible assets (real estates etc) because of their wasteful and extravagant spending habits. For these foolish people showing off to people is far more important than building their financial security for their future. So even though some people earn millions of $ every year they will eventually retire poor or broke.
6. ABOVE ALL GODLINESS. A person focused on living to please the God of heaven will find that they are naturally following most of the wealth building and success principles of life. The Holy Bible has a lot to say about the principles of success such as integrity hard work and planning for the future.
ULTIMATELY IT IS GOD’S BLESSING ON WHAT WE DO THAT MATTERS AND THAT IS DEPENDENT ON OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. You can have all the above characteristics that make a person very successful or very wealthy but if God does not have first place in your life, then you are “CHASING AFTER THE WIND”.
