'Pardon jailed content creator' - Franklin Cudjoe appeals to President Mahama

IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to pardon TikToker Camilla Alhassan following her one-year prison sentence for offensive conduct and publication of false news.

Reacting to the court's decision, Cudjoe questioned why the case was prosecuted and whether Attorney General Dr Dominic Ayine and Supreme Court nominee Justice Senyo Dzamefe Sai were aware of it.

"So which overfed and pampered prosecutor brought this case against the woman? Is he or she not deliberately sabotaging the President? Did AG Dominic Ayine and Justice Sai know about this case?" he wrote.

Cudjoe also questioned the decision to convict Alhassan over videos in which she falsely claimed that President Mahama sacrificed 32 cows as part of ritual activities to win the 2024 general elections.

"You actually jail a person who says the President buried 32 cows to help him spiritually win the elections? I would have been shy to even entertain such comedy in my court!" he stated in a social media post.

He ended his remarks with an appeal to the President.

"Mr President, please reject this senseless persecution in your name! Please pardon Ms Alhassan!" Cudjoe wrote.
