  For the past 30 years I have lived in the UK, I have never experienced a power outage or water shortage—not even for 10 minutes. Even during major infrastructure upgrades, essential services continue with little or no disruption.
  
  Yet I regularly read about recurring power outages in Ghana. This raises an important question: what are Ghana’s leaders doing to build a reliable and resilient electricity and water infrastructure?
  
  Reliable public utilities are fundamental to economic growth, business confidence, healthcare, education, and the overall quality of life. Ghanaians deserve consistent access to these basic services.

  Why this long essay? It's something the state and electricity power providers should have done long long ago but didn't do, so if you are doing it today what is the noise. This is just like changing the engine oil of your vehicle! When my car runs 9000 km, I change my oil whether its dirty or not. Recently, I read in the news about MPs giving street light bulbs to Assembly men. Where else can you hear this except GH.
  These transformers have their capacities and expiry dates. Electricity tariffs ECG charges users pay include depreciation costs for ALL the things they use to generate electricity. So if you have not done ALL these years and you are doing it today, don't let it seems you are doing the citizenry any favour!
  Elsewhere they don't wait for even a street light bulb to blowout before they are replaced, they are replaced on scheduled maintenance. Stop politicising every issue and do the right thing.
