Otumfuo can be blamed for the Galamsay epidemic in his region. He continues to demand Royalties in the form of Gold and Golden Nuggets from his subchiefs. Some people in Asanteman are still fined in the form of Gold Nuggets and Dusts. How do these people come by these exactions? Yes, by Galamsay. The Government which has absolute Democratic Power should outlaw this practice where Royalties and fines are paid to the Asantehene and other chiefs in the form of Gold. All fines for violations and crimes should be paid into Government Accounts where they can be accountable. It is just wrong and unconstitutional for the Asantehene and other Paramount Chiefs to be paid in the form of any Minerals. The Chiefs have been abusing their people for too long a time. All offences should be put to trial at the Government’s Judiciary. People should be made to refuse to trial at any Transitional Court. People like me will never attend to any such Traditional Courts and there is nothing any Chief can do to me. We don’t live in the Stone Age anymore.
