Nana Addo was the only president who took upon himself to build accommodations for judges because of these reasons, but Mahama and his goons told Ghanaians that it was a fruitless effort. In Ghana, we think everything should be about the capital, Accra else forget it.

Most Judges have to travel to handle cases in some parts of the country as if those living in those areas are not within the boundaries of Ghana.

The bureaucracy is way too much. Why should a land litigation case take more than 3 months to settle if we are straightforward with the processes. Some of these cases must and should be handled without unnecessary delays. Cut ...

The bureaucracy is way too much. Why should a land litigation case take more than 3 months to settle if we are straightforward with the processes. Some of these cases must and should be handled without unnecessary delays. Cutoff the unnecessary in-person appearance and let lawyers make written submissions. A judge should call for in-person appearance only when merited. It’s an injustice to seek justice in Ghana because you need money and time, plenty of time and patience. The sad part is that winning is one hurdle but enforcement is another chapter which makes going to court sometimes a useless adventure. Special enforcement units are needed to make real meaningful action to judgments. This way, a message will be sent to the citizenry that if you are taken to court and found guilty there are going to be consequences. Why do you have to spend a decade in court fighting over a piece of land only for the other party to disregard the court orders and proceed to develop the land and after you win you appear to be the bad person because you want to claim back your land ?
