This's one of the reasons why most of the chiefs feel government appointees are below them.They feel every citizen should bow to them because they have the authority and power.
Akuffo Addo was right to have let them know that Ghana constitution is above everyone. Akuffo Addo always made sure they're on their feet any time he arrived at a function and not the other way round.Some of the chiefs feel big and proud to the extend that they don't respect anybody.

Chieftaincy is the bane of Ghana’s socio-political and economic development. The Ghana Constitution is above EVERY chief or traditional ruler in Ghana. These traditional rulers with, covert and overt, support from known and faceless politicians and citizens run a parallel government in many ways that hinders progress in Ghana. Most of those chiefs, from the Ashanti , Northern, Western, and Greater Accra, promise mayhem if they don’t get their way. Meanwhile , these chiefs get monthly stipends from the Ghana government. The Ghana government must use eminent domain laws extensively for land developments. Every land in Ghana has people living on it but in a constitutional republic, the Ghana Constitution is above all. Let that SINK in to these chiefs and so-called kings who cannot even create jobs. New and progress response invited, if any.
