There are many cultural practices which are outdated and needs to be reformed to suit our modern time. Unfortunately, neither the traditional leaders nor the state is interested in addressing this issue. Some of our national problems emanates from our cultural practices. I thought the Mahama administration was going to reset the country by addressing (among other things) some of our cultural practices but so far I have not heard him taking up the outdated cultural practices. A good example is how we spend lavishly on funerals, keeping the dead in a mortuary for months, early childhood marriages, preferences for boys over girls education, strict gender roles in the society at large, etc. etc.

If they were not aware, there would have been shootouts.

SOMETIMES, SEE THE GOOD SIDES OF CERTAIN THINGS.
