Watch the moment kingmakers 'capture' prison officer at duty post to install him as chief

A prison officer who was at his duty post was captured in a ceremonial-style procession by traditional kingmakers as part of preparations to install him as a chief.

According to a widely circulated video on social media, the officer was taken from his post by traditional guards to undergo customary rites ahead of his installation.

The footage shows the officer seated at his duty post when the traditional kingmakers approached him, lifted him and carried him on their shoulders while drumming, dancing and performing traditional rituals.

His colleague officers were also seen following the procession as they joined in celebrating his transition into his new traditional role.
