Huge? Not really. That is tax payed on the profit they made from Ghanaian customers. Profit last year was estimated to be about $600 million. Most was repatriated to South Africa. There is no shortage of Telecoms in the world ...

Telecom was heavily in debt for years after its sale Vodafone turned it around and handed the University back to government. Even with that Vodafone could not stand MTN and had to move out. Before MTN, there was spacefon, Areeba etc. The introduction of MOMO was the real game changer for MTN. This should tell you that innovation, and prudent management is what keeps a business running. Rather than playing politics let's demonstrate against the colossal debts our SEO's are incurring. Its as though those in our state institutions just dress up to go and incur debts at the expense of the taxpayer. Let's look at the right places for solutions. This country is gradually sinking to abyss and it's citizens are divided along political lines
