When a nation is full of people who are always looking for quick and easy solutions to their (often self-inflicted) problems then this breeds a lot of self-appointed "prophets". There must be at least a 100,000 "prophets " in Ghana alone You don't need any particular qualifications to be called a “prophet”, you don't need to attend a college /school of prophets because all you need is to proclaim yourself as a “prophet” .It helps if you have the "gift of the garb" and sound very convincing. The key to being a successful prophet is to claim to be able to offer quick or instant solutions to people’s problems.IN REALITY TRUE PROPHETS ARE MUCH SMALLER IN NUMBER AND THE GIFT OF PROPHECY CAN BE MANIFESTED IN ANY TRUE BELIEVER OF CHRIST.
Too many Ghanaians practice LAZY CHRISTIANITY and many "men of God" have conditioned their followers to make Church service attendance the main pillar of their faith. This of course goes hand in hand with an encouragement for members to make frequent generous donations to the church irrespective of how church attendees obtained those moneys and irrespective of their difficult economic situation.
REAL MEN OF GOD WILL ALWAYS ENCOURSGE THEIR FLOCK TO PRIORITIZE PERSONAL BIBLE STUDY, PERSONAL TIME OF PRAYER AND FAMILY DEVOTION AT HOME. It is impossible to grow and mature as a true follower of Christ unless a person gives priority to a regular, daily personal time of devotion IN PRIVATE. Worshipping in church only becomes meaningful when the individual makes time for God in disciplined prayer and bible study at home. A wise person will always start the day with a private time of devotion, committing the day ahead to God and asking for strength to live a life that please Him.
