Dear Hon. Minister, did you respectfully considered the implications of your new policy direction on grade C and D SH/T schools?
These schools already suffer with teaching and learning largely because poor students by virtue of the CSSP system are placed into these categories of schools making academic transformation very difficult.
By your new directive, as brilliant students get to choose their grade A's and Bs schools, the bigger pool of poor and academically weak students who should have gotten good infrastructures and learning environments are still going to be clustered in these low grade schools breeding less academic competition amongst peers.
How helpful at all is the policy to the weak student?

We have never gotten anything right since independence! Do we have leaders or misleaders? We always start from GOOD to WORST instead of GOOD to BEST. We were told students would select their preferred schools after the release of their results. We we again told school selection was going to start on 20 July 2026 and end on 7 August 2026. Today, the education minister is telling us the results would be released BY 31 July - he's not even sure WHEN. Is Ju-lie? The promise of noninterference is a hoax, it can never happen in Ghana!

Is changing the way schools of selection from the previous just for changing sake? Systems are changed for the better not for worse. What research went into the previous selection system and what were it weaknesses and recommendations? In the previous selection system students selected 'any' schools. With the new system, all the BEST students are going to select all the BEST schools whilst the not SO GOOD students would be left with the not SO GOOD schools. This is SEGREGATION of the highest order!
