Armoured cars normally run continuously from their point of startup to their destination or end of mission. Imagine the operator had turned it off for the few minutes that he went to buy medicine and it failed to start back up, do you know if there's a tow truck capable of towing all that.metal? And his walkie talkie too could be picking its feed from the mounted base station in the armoured truck so turning it off is not an option. Police cars all over the world are normally never turned off and until recently, they were always left open, in case the officer had to make a quick dash to respond to a call or escape say a hostile situation
