  Which countries fit his criteria? Maybe Ghana. We were ahead of the Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Kenya and Tanzania in terms of those attributes he mentioned. Over time, these countries including Ruanda and Burkina Faso, have overtaken us. Were we sleeping? Which country has a highly developed population but lags behind in infrastructure? The formula doesn’t work Prof. The Fante and Ga were the first to meet the whites, get educated, acquire skills. What happened to Jamestown and Chokor? How does Cape Coast or Elmiina compare with Sunyani and Koforidua? Don’t take this advice. Better to own a house as gari trader than end up as a highly educated pensioner suffering at old age in a single room of the family house.

Developing is not only about infrastructural development. It is actually about how people easily meet their basic need or if citizens meeting of basic needs is always not determined by world market or what happens in the West or Europe.

We need to develop the human capital without which there will never be development.
