the reason we have almost every dick and tom claiming to be National Security Operative is that the real operatives do not carry out their work in transparency. They want to be feared upon the mere mentioning of their job title. They want to be seen as demi-gods, all knowing, etc. But these are mere human beings with a task to carry out specific duties. If those found foul are dealt heavily it could deter people from all these shambolic acts. Any competent operative will not even disclose his/her identity, because disclosing your identity alone comes with several risks but not in Ghana. Most of them want to be feared, act as if rules and laws don't apply to them. So they have ended up as vigilantes, landguards, debt collectors, drive carelessly on our roads and misuse sirens and flashing bluelights indiscriminately. Very cheap.
