Meet Odeneho Nsia Ababio: One of the longest-serving Paramount Chiefs in Ghana

Odeneho Dadeako Kwabena Nsia Ababio is the Paramount Chief of Ahafo Kenyase No. 2 in the Ahafo Region and is regarded as one of the longest-reigning traditional rulers in Ghana.

Popularly known as "Aban," he was enstooled on September 21, 1937, at the age of 17.

He has occupied the stool for more than 80 years, making him one of the country's longest-serving traditional rulers.

Throughout his reign, Odeneho Dadeako Kwabena Nsia Ababio has provided leadership to the people of Kenyase No. 2 and the wider Ahafo area, with his tenure often associated with stability, continuity and the preservation of the customs and traditions of the stool.

He also holds the distinction of being the only chief in the Asante Kingdom to have served successively as an Odikro (caretaker chief), Brempong (sub-chief) and ultimately a Paramount Chief.

Beyond his traditional role, Odeneho Dadeako Kwabena Nsia Ababio is credited with leading several infrastructural and socioeconomic development projects in his traditional area.

Among his notable achievements is the establishment of the OLA Girls' Senior High School in Kenyase No. 2 in 1974, which he later handed over to the government.

He is also credited with leading efforts to bring electricity to the Kenyase No. 2 community, a development that significantly improved the area's infrastructure and accelerated socio-economic growth.

Odeneho Dadeako Kwabena Nsia Ababio is an old student of the Osei Tutu Senior High School.

His reign continues to be recognised as one of the longest in Asanteman, with more than eight decades of service to the Kenyase No. 2 Stool and its people.
