There’s a reason why the appeal case filed by Maame Serwah has not been heard for over 7 months. The only reason for the appeal is for Maame Serwah to provide an undisputed, verified marriage certificate to show that she’s the only legally married wife of Lumba. The Appeals Court knows Maame Serwah now has this certificate which the court cannot reject once it is tendered. The court is caught between a rock and a hard place. Calling the case will be an automatic win for Maame Serwah. This will automatically invalidate any claim and relationship between Lumba and Odo Broni, thus depriving her of any of Lumba’s properties. The legal customary law doesn’t allow any traditional marriage unless there is evidence of divorce. Almost all the Appeals Court judges in Ghana are members of the occult societies of which Lumba was a member and introduced Odo Broni to them as a wife. The cult is supposed to protect Odo Broni as a member. That’s why it has become difficult for any judge to preside over the appeal case now.

My understanding is that most of Lumba’s landed properties, including the house at East Legon, have Akosua Serwah’s name as a joint owner even before Odo Broni came into the picture. Akosua Serwah can not lose her legally acquired properties in any shape or form.
