Let's spend all of Wontumi's money to hire each NPP member licensed to practice law in Ghana so the NPP can triple its chances of getting some of the relief they are about to seek out n court on behalf of the convict Wontumi; their efforts will fail.

You see the NPP, a party laden with tricks had gotten away with dissemination of misinformation from its founding days to the Ghana public that was naive and saw 24th February 1966 take place. Ghanaians who saw and lived in the aftermath came to know of an NPP led by Danquah/Dumbo and KABusia ideologues who could not tell the difference between governance and public administration policies.

Today we have an NPP that continues to thrive on lies, nepotism, bribery, corruption and selfishness that has become the party's preamble, policy manifesto papers and motivational slang known as "property seeking" democracy.

No lawyer whose brand is worth more than a bowl of red-red will defend a client in court to a scheduled sentencing by the sitting judge to ask for an interpretation of the very laws that was at the base of possible punishment should their client be found guilty. Would principled lawyers with moral compass not ask to know comprehensive details of the case against their client, the punishment awaiting their client should they fail to persuade the court before starting their defense in chief?

It is interesting that neither Appiah-Kubi nor Atta Akyea sought the constitutional interpretation from the Supreme Court with any prior filings not forgetting that Atta Akyea sought postponement of the date the judge was to render a decision. Why would Atta Akyea not file for both extension seeking delay in the court's verdict and the crucial interpretation of a statute by the SC if the constitutional interpretation is primary to the conclusion of the case against his client?

This Botchway Jnr layer was published skewed reports about the Wontumi case and other cases in the courts. He is continuing to do same even for the appeal. Why didn't he state the constitutional issue for interpretation in this report? What is the procedure for seeking interpretation? When the law by which Wontumi was charged and sentenced was amended by the NPP, the then Dep Speaker even called for shoot and kill. Was he challenged in court for suggesting that? Jnr lawyer should first read the judgement and listen to senior (non-NPP) lawyers opinion about it.
