Why Tribunals Bill should be passed quickly - Jantuah explains

Former presidential staffer and development economist P V Jantuah Boateng Dadson has called on the government to expedite the passage of the Tribunals Bill, arguing that a specialised tribunal could help reduce the workload on Ghana’s existing court system.

Speaking on Angel FM, Kumasi, Dadson said establishing the tribunal would strengthen accountability processes and ensure that important cases receive dedicated attention.

“If that is done, it will make everyone sit up. They should quickly pass the Tribunals Bill and it will work very well,” he said.

According to him, a tribunal system would provide an additional avenue for addressing cases that require specialised handling while reducing pressure on the regular courts.

He argued that strengthening the country’s justice system is necessary to ensure that accountability mechanisms function effectively.

Dadson maintained that the swift passage of the bill would contribute to a more efficient legal process and encourage public confidence in the administration of justice.
