Former NAFCO CEO’s wife seeks High Court approval to travel to UK

The High Court is set to hear an application by Faiza Seidu Wuni, wife of former National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) Chief Executive Officer Abdul Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, seeking permission to travel to the United Kingdom to facilitate medical treatment for their son.

Wuni, who is standing trial alongside her husband, is asking the court to vary her bail conditions to allow her to travel. The application is scheduled to be heard on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

The prosecution has raised concerns over the timing of the request, noting that it was filed only days after Aludiba submitted a separate application seeking leave to travel abroad on medical grounds.

However, the defence maintains that Wuni’s application is solely intended to enable her to accompany or secure medical care for the couple’s son in the United Kingdom.

Aludiba and Wuni are facing criminal charges over alleged financial improprieties during his tenure as NAFCO Chief Executive Officer. Both have pleaded not guilty and are on bail pending the determination of the case.

As part of their bail conditions, they are required to obtain the court’s permission before travelling outside the jurisdiction.

The July 28, 2026, proceedings will focus on Wuni’s travel application, after which the court will determine whether to vary her bail conditions.
