Zambia announced themselves as serious contenders with a commanding 6-0 victory over Egypt in their Group C opener.

Veteran striker Racheal Nachula broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 25th minute after Barbra Banda was brought down in the box.

Captain Barbra Banda then took over, converting another penalty on the hour mark before adding goals in the 63rd, 87th and 90+6th minutes to complete a sensational four-goal haul.

Substitute Eneless Phiri capped the rout with a stoppage-time strike in the 90+2nd minute as the Copper Queens cruised to the biggest win of the tournament so far and moved to the top of Group C.
