'I was going to buy kebab for my son' - Woman breaks down after mother-in-law's car catches fire

A young woman was left devastated on July 28, 2026, after a vehicle she was driving caught fire near the Police Headquarters in Accra.

According to the woman, she was on her way to buy kebab for her son when the saloon car suddenly caught fire.

Speaking to one of the fire officers who was consoling her, she revealed that the car belonged to her mother-in-law.

The woman, who could not hold back her tears, was seen in a distressed state as firefighters made efforts to extinguish the blaze.

“It belongs to my mother-in-law. I was only going to buy kebab for my son,” she told the fire officer amid tears.

The video was first shared on social media by Asempa FM with the caption, “A young woman was left devastated after her mother-in-law’s car caught fire near the Police Headquarters while she was on her way to buy kebab for her son.”
