Watch as Kantanka family secretary breaks down on TV after 'AI-generated' tribute goes viral

For the past few days, the late Ghanaian inventor and founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Prof Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, has remained a major topic of discussion across the country.

Following his burial ceremony, several videos from the funeral grounds have gone viral on social media.

One video that has particularly captured the attention of netizens is a tribute delivered in honour of the late Ghanaian icon, which some have alleged was generated using ChatGPT.

In the video, sighted by GhanaWeb on July 31, 2026, an individual reading the tribute was heard reciting a line that many social media users believe resembles a common AI-generated editing instruction.

“May his soul rest in perfect peace. Apostle Emeritus Professor Engineer Kwadwo Safo Kantanka. This section should be inserted into the original biography immediately,” the reader said.

Following the circulation of the video, the family secretary of the Aduana Abusua, Dr Philip Siaw Kissi, also alleged during an interview on UTV that the tribute had been generated using ChatGPT.

According to him, it was embarrassing for the tribute of such an iconic figure to be produced with artificial intelligence rather than being personally written.

He argued that the incident was a disgrace not only to the family of the late inventor but also to his legacy.

“I am very sad because I am well educated, and they want to tell me that I cannot write a good tribute for the late Kantanka?” he said amid tears.

Dr Siaw Kissi further alleged that one of the banners displayed at the funeral also contained a spelling error involving the late Kantanka’s title.

According to him, a banner shown during the UTV discussion misspelled the word “Apostle” as “Apostlep.”

The video has since generated widespread reactions on social media, with many netizens sharing their views on the allegations surrounding the tribute and the apparent spelling errors.
