Do Ghanaians pursuing graduate/post graduate studies at universities across Ghana have employment guarantees from government? If not why do you think the same government should grant such to those who unfairly, mostly through bribery, party and tribal affiliations and family connections obtained scholarships to study abroad?

You must be a self-hating individual to think that those who studied outside Ghana should be granted special status or receive preferencial treatment on the employment front.

If you are not aware let me draw your attention to the fact that the core mandate of the scholarship Authority as far as full scholarship are concerned is to award such scholarships for disciplines or specialties that cannot be provided in Ghana and even if those programs are available in-country, they are not to the standards required for the strategic development of the country. Now draw your own inference on job opportunities when you take the spirit and letter of the Authority’s Act into consideration. The high commissioner is asking for an oath…what’s the difference between that and the bond? When Government is unable to fulfill its obligations under the contract beyond a stipulated time or not at all does it constitute a breach of the bond? Some busy body high commissioner who knows next to nothing about her duties…when others are networking and bringing investors to their countries she is there fighting a lost battle…tweaaa…

Why should they come back when they shall have no jobs to do. Even if they have jobs ready for them, will they be paid correctly and regularly? How many newly employed Medical Doctors, Professional Nurses, and Teachers have worked for more than one and a half years without pay? It will help the country and the Government if they don't come back to soar the Unemployment Menace in the country.

How do you give scholarships to read courses like English literature, Management etc when these scholarships could have been given to needy students offering STEM courses. In any case did the scholarships allow them to stay in those countries after completion and work. To add insult to injury some of the beneficiaries carried their spouses and children along and stipends are being paid by the Ghanaian taxpayer for all these people. Some spouses are even there working and collecting stipends at the same time. I bet you if this verification is done a lot will be uncovered because there are some children who have been left with relatives to school in ghana whist the father is schooling, the mother is working and at the same time collecting these family stipends. Whereever they are getting money paying their rents and bills in the UK , they should set aside some of that money to pay their debt to GSA.

Do they tell their landlord or Electricity Company that since I completed Univ I havent got a job so I cannot pay you my rent or bills. No. They eat, sleep under a roof and pay their bills.

So they should include the Schorlaship repayments as part of their daily bills because someobdy also needs that money in Ghana to pay for his scholarship.

If after his/her tenure he is not in the system in Ghana that means he is likely to be in the UK or elsewhere. Just contract a Debt Collector Agency many of whom are in the UK, US or Europe. With just the name of the schorlaship holder they could easily trace his location and let the Debt Collector use their processes to retrieve the money including going to court and putting a lien on their properties, cars or salary.

No need for this drama played in the media!!

So sad that scholarship beneficiaries are sponsored with millions of taxpayers money are calling the shots and with arrogance. This could be for the fact that they paid huge bribes to the Secretariat in the Nana Akuffo-Addo and Bawumia's regime before being awarded the scholarships.

If merits and fairplay are the determining factors to getting a scholarship, compliance with any directive would be automatic to the beneficiaries.
