This route to qualification for the Women's 2027 World Cup is too complicated and doubt if there is any basis raising false hope after last night's defeat to Malawi, a win for Black Queens would have ensured automatic qualification and saved us from all these difficult Algebra and Calculus calculations to qualifying through the African and dual Intercontinental playoffs.

Well half bread is better than nothing. Black Queens still have a chance to go to the World Cup next year in Brazil through the playoffs. Fortunately, for the African preliminary round, they are up against Ivory Coast who are more beatable than Nigeria and South Africa women in the other mix of African play-off.

My only disappointment is that Ghana had a chance to win their first Wafcon title after perennial champions, Nigeria had been knocked out by Cameroon ladies. For me the Nigerian women are still the best in Africa and were just too unlucky yesterday against a not-too-good Cameroonian women side, except their fantastic and inspired goalkeeper.
