It is true that the Chief doesn't feed you but note that every society has got some acceptable ethics that must be followed. Admittedly, the Chief should not have asked the young Guy to be shaved publicly. He should have directed him to go and shave his hair to be more acceptable in the community.
It looks like people do everything and dress as they like but not in consonance with societal norms. This is why our society is becoming rotten. Can any person dress anyhow in the society? The Chief doesn't feed you but does that mean you can be allowed to walk naked in Public? Can you be allowed to have sexual intercourse with the opposite sex or same sex partner in public or at your farm? Common Sense should dictate our behavior always. Can the Guy be allowed to walk naked in town? Let Common Sense guide us in most of our dealings.
