If you listen to the story it is not a bank robbery. The robbers were targeting a bank customer and the were on the street waiting. There are two banks in the area Zenith and GCB. So the attempt was not in a bank.

I don't think that the Bank Robbery is a cooked up story. The Asante and Akyem, Fante and Akwapem have a saying that " SE WO MAAME AWU NA WO SE WADA A, TENA HO NA YEBEHWE NEA OKOM BEDE NO. This can be translated literally as IF YOUR MOTHER IS DEAD BUT YOU SAY SHE IS ASLEEP, JUST LET US WAIT AND LET US SEE WHO SHALL BE HUNGRY." I don't think that anybody, especially the Police will come out with any such fake story. If the Bank comes to debunk such a story, don't blame the Police if they refuse to show up or delay to take any action when called the next time.

I am not from there but I greatly like them for their hardworking and industrious nature. It is not the Capital of Ghana. Neither is it a created city like Tema or Takoradi. I have lived there before and I can say that you can't beat them. I am not an Asante, though I have -Karikari as my last name because that is my father's name as he was named after the Asantehene Kofi -Karikari. You can't beat the Asante People so it can help you if you join them. After all the nonsensical nonsense of Efo Julor John Rawlings against Asante and Akan Speaking people of Ghana, killing, torturing and murdering a great many of them, the Asante remain a very strong Power to reckon with in Ghana. The Akan and Asante dialect is widely spoken everywhere in Ghana. Go to Markola market in Accra and find out the language of Trade. Try the Tamale Central market and see if they use Dagbani language to trade or a quasi Asante or Akan dialect.
