We can't have a situation in a Democratic country where Traditional Authorities can impose and enforce any such declarations without consultations with the National Security. This is a wrong precedent. So can any Paramount Chief in Ghana issue such orders on its own? Let the Traditional leaders know their limitations. If the Traditional Authorities of Kumasi have problems with the flying of drones in its area, it only needs to inform the Police and the Courts to enforce any such restrictions. Ghana is not TRADITIONACRACY.

First of all you don't know the designation Manhyia Palace holds regarding its security status. As I mentioned before, people who work at Manhyia Palace are Professionals in their fields of Specialties and they just don't wake up and issue imotional statements without the backing of the law.

Sarpong, I lived and grew up in Asante Region and know the respect and adorations that the Asante people give to the Asantehene even when it comes to the settlement of land and Chieftaincy disputes. I never meant to disrespect or disparage him but I think that in a Democratic country, it would have been appropriate to have his concerns addressed by the Ministry of Interior who controls the Police and can use them to enforce laws. As at now, the Asantehene has not got any Army or Standing Police of his own. His directives will be enforced by the Police. In my little wisdom he should have issued his directive through the Ministry of Interior. If he has contacted the Interior Ministry, there is no way the Minister would have said no. We have a Democratic Government but not a theocracy. Let us make the laws of the land work through the various Ministries..

The Asantehene can help enforce laws but can't issue edicts out of his own volition. Whatever laws he wants to enforce should be in consultation with the Ministry of Interior. Can we have all other Paramount Chiefs coming out with orders? If for genuine reasons he doesn't want to drones be flown around his Palace, that is fine but that order should be given by the Ministry of Interior. Can all other Paramount Chiefs just give such orders without consultation with the Ministry of Interior? The Asantehene should certainly have some limitations. There was once the rumor that he identified himself during one of his visits as the King of Ghana or Africa. Is it true he identified himself like that? Will other Paramount Chiefs recognize and understand that? No. The Asantehene cannot be arbitrary. If he has genuine concerns of Drones flying around Manhyia, he can have it stopped in consultation with the Ministry of Interior. As at now, there are no laws concerning Drones flying around places in Kumasi. He cannot enforce any such restrictions without the consulting the Ministry of Interior. If some recalcitrant ones decide to still fly their Drones because it is not against any law, is it then that he is going to report to the Police?
