What I don't really understand is why should European countries involved in the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade pay Reparations to African countries. That evil Trade at that time was a legitimate one and African Kingdoms like the Dankyira, Asante,Akwamu, Anlo -Ewes, Hausas and the Fulanis all involved. Why should African countries not also pay Reparations to African Americans and the Carribeans. Throughout history, there have been Human Enslavement and Servitude. The Egyptians enslaved the People of Israel. The Russians also had Serfdom. The French and English had their own such Inhuman Trade that went on. African countries should not be the champions to demand for Reparations until they can answer who went into the Interior, fight against each other, defeated the weak, captured them and marched the defeated to the Europeans who lived in their Castles at the Coast and never went into the Interior to fight and capture Slaves. Go to Ghana and visit the Cape Coast Castles and find out what went on there. Try also to visit the Slave Market Centers of Salaga and find out if any European ever went into the Interior to fight for,and capture Slaves. African countries should stop talking about payments of Reparations because the Slave Trade was a legitimate business with some people willing to sell and others willing to buy.

Almost every society has had some forms of Enslavement. The Russians had Serfdom, the Anglo British and the Chinese had their own. Ma in y students and people who study History don't know why there were Black people in a in d around India. Yes, there was the Trans Indian Slave Trade even before the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. My beef is that Africans should stop crying for Slave Trade Reparations to be paid by Europeans to them because Africans sold their own to the Europeans in a trade that was legitimate at that time. Even Africans were dealing in slaves with each other before the Arabs and Europeans became involved. If there should be Reparations to be paid, then Africans should also pay something to the African Americans and the B to acknowledge Carribeans.

The irony and the injustice here is why did they not equally pay equivalent compensation to the free slaves who had no homes or facing alien culture? The solidarity, physical help like South Africans being offered free education other African countries like Ghana, Ghana helping Zimbabwe etc, moral courage and monetary assistance that other African countries like Ghana through President Kwame Nkrumah etc gave to the Southern African countries have been forgotten and the present generation of South Africans have unashamedly been forgotten. In South Africa itself, the Zulus are fighting the Xhohas. The white man and woman in South Africa during the APARTHEID era used to pay monetary bribes to the Zulus and then the Zulus would go and fight their fellow black Xhohas. If you see any human being fixating on destroying waterbodies, rivers, forests, land, that human should be arrested and instantly annihilated because he/she doesn't understand his/her surroundings.

Years down the road, the effect of galamsey will be too ugly to talk about and I hope some of the voices issuing cautions will not be around to witness the devastations that will come it.

Today, our leaders are talking about something that happened when they were not born and being silent about the cancerous effect of galamsey that is eating into everything we have as a nation. So sad, very sad.

We can likened the slave trade to galamsey currently going on in Ghana. Citizens are giving away the farm lands to foreigners, particularly the Chinese, to mine our God-given gold for peanut. In the next 200 years, our children's children are going to rise up to demand reparations for the destruction of our lands and water bodies from the Chinese for their involvement of galamsey. It's about time we use our brains. Most countries have more natural resources than us but because they THINK of the generation unborn, they are not destroying their environment. There's a place in UK with abundance of coal but because of a rear species of frogs in the area, they never mind the coal. We are so unwise we destroy water for money!
