They know that they can use you the opposition to cripple the one thing that is keeping Ghana out of their reach - the Goldbod. Assuming the Goldbod has made losses, SO WHAT? Show me a business in the Western world that doesn’t in the course of their lifetime? But look at the profits the Goldbod has brought to Ghana. Low inflation. Lower cost of living. Stable Cedi. Lower fuel prices. Ghana has always been the leader in Africa. If we can extricate ourselves from the IMF trap, the rest of Africa will follow suit. Just like we did with independence. IMF therefore must destroy the Goldbod. Like they did with Nkrumah, they will use people like you (as they did with your forebears) to do the job. Unfortunately for you, Ghanaians are wiser. They also want better for their children and not exist as perpetual slaves of the IMF.

It truly saddens me that the ex-deputy finance officer to Dr. Bawumia, hon Abena Osei-Asare, who by virtue of her credentials should understand basic accounting principles, balance sheet and financing schemes hides behind what the IMF says because she has no confidence in her own knowledge and classroom " bought" credentials.

So for as long as we have intellectually challenged but classroom educated pigeons running around Ghana there will be no one to ask questions of the IMF. When did the IMF announce losses in trading of Ghana's gold when foreign nations were screwing Ghana out of the sale of its natural and mineral resources while Ghana depended on IMF loans to suppliment loss of gold generating revenue/income?

Why is it that now that Ghana is responsible for the sale of its own shit and has become a player in determining the value of its own currency vis-a-vis other global currencies the IMF has decided to lump operational fees and expenditures as losses? Did the IMF label all the revenues Ghana lost over the years when others took our gold and gave Ghana less than 10-percent of the gold sales?

REPORTED BY AFRICA BUSINESS INSIDER:

“GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi disclosed the development on August 11, saying the institution stopped receiving funding from the central bank in March 2026 and has since moved to a self-funded model.
Under the new arrangement, GoldBod raises financing directly from commercial banks and gold offtakers to purchase and aggregate gold for export and reserve accumulation.

The arrangement dates back to Ghana’s Domestic Gold Purchase Programme (DGPP), established by the Bank of Ghana to increase its gold reserves by purchasing gold produced domestically Before GoldBod was created, the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) served as the central bank’s buying agent under the programme. GoldBod inherited that role when it was established in April 2025, continuing to purchase and aggregate gold with funding provided by the Bank of Ghana.
According to GoldBod, the central bank also covered the costs associated with gold aggregation under the arrangement.
That model has now ended.

GoldBod said its transition to direct financing is intended to strengthen its operational independence while allowing it to continue mobilising substantial volumes of gold for exports and reserve accumulation.

“The shift marks a major step towards GoldBod’s operational and financial independence,” the institution said in its statement.
The move also changes the relationship between GoldBod and the Bank of Ghana, with the gold authority now taking greater responsibility for financing its core purchasing activities.

Gyamfi said the new financing model has already produced positive results, with GoldBod able to raise funds from commercial banks and offtakers without relying on direct financing from the central bank.
The development comes as Ghana seeks to maximise the economic value of its position as Africa’s largest gold producer, particularly by using locally produced gold to support foreign-exchange generation and reserve accumulation.

GoldBod said the self-funded model will allow it to operate more independently while maintaining its gold aggregation activities.
The change does not mean Ghana is abandoning its domestic gold purchase strategy. Instead, the country is separating the purchase and aggregation of gold from the financing and management of its monetary reserves”.

“GoldBod CEO Sammy Gyamfi disclosed the development on August 11, saying the institution stopped receiving funding from the central bank in March 2026 and has since moved to a self-funded model.
Under the new arrangement, GoldBod raises financing directly from commercial banks and gold offtakers to purchase and aggregate gold for export and reserve accumulation.

The arrangement dates back to Ghana’s Domestic Gold Purchase Programme (DGPP), established by the Bank of Ghana to increase its gold reserves by purchasing gold produced domestically Before GoldBod was created, the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) served as the central bank’s buying agent under the programme. GoldBod inherited that role when it was established in April 2025, continuing to purchase and aggregate gold with funding provided by the Bank of Ghana.
According to GoldBod, the central bank also covered the costs associated with gold aggregation under the arrangement.
That model has now ended.

GoldBod said its transition to direct financing is intended to strengthen its operational independence while allowing it to continue mobilising substantial volumes of gold for exports and reserve accumulation.

“The shift marks a major step towards GoldBod’s operational and financial independence,” the institution said in its statement.
The move also changes the relationship between GoldBod and the Bank of Ghana, with the gold authority now taking greater responsibility for financing its core purchasing activities.

Gyamfi said the new financing model has already produced positive results, with GoldBod able to raise funds from commercial banks and offtakers without relying on direct financing from the central bank.
The development comes as Ghana seeks to maximise the economic value of its position as Africa’s largest gold producer, particularly by using locally produced gold to support foreign-exchange generation and reserve accumulation.

GoldBod said the self-funded model will allow it to operate more independently while maintaining its gold aggregation activities.
The change does not mean Ghana is abandoning its domestic gold purchase strategy. Instead, the country is separating the purchase and aggregation of gold from the financing and management of its monetary reserves”.

Even he was persuaded to accept the Structural Adjustment Policy (SAP) which meant yanking subsidies helping your people survive, devaluing your currency, borrowing from the West and using your savings/income to pay them interest. The so-called debt trap. To date, Africans are still paying. The Western economists including the IMF/World Bank themselves now agree that SAP did serious harm to Africa. Lost lives. Lost opportunity. Increased poverty. Increased debt. So, asking us to go down this route again reveals the greed and cruelty of the Afenyos. We won't.
