I don't agree that Asante are criminals. There are criminals in every ethnic group. Asante are said to be criminals because there are many Ghanaians parading as Asante people but they are not. Go to Kumasi and Accra and find the number of Ghanaians with Asante or Akan names and parading as Asante people. They speak Akan fluently and can pass everywhere as Asante people. Only indigenous Asante people can easily identify that such people are not Asante people because of their ascent and intonation. It is for example very difficult to differentiate an Akyem from an Asante unless one has lived among these two groups who are very closely related.
