By demonstrating its incredible resilience and ability to mete out painful retaliation to its attackers Iran has shocked both Foes and Friends alike. The risk of the use of nuclear weapons grows by the day. If any nuke(s) are used by any side, there will be guaranteed swift nuclear retaliation from the other side. Oman is just a side show. Once the Nuclear threshold is breached big powers possessing nuclear weapons will feel compelled to use them at the slightest provocation or pre-emptively (even if in a limited capacity) to deter and demonstrate to adversaries they are willing and able to use these terribly destructive weapons)
The best outcome for the Gulf region and Middle East is for everyone to put their pride aside and call it a day and stop grandstanding and everybody go back home. Folk will just have to learn to live with each other otherwise they will continue a mutual path of destruction of the region and far beyond. Moreover once this conflict goes nuclear it would be incredibly difficult if not impossible to limit the conflict to the Gulf region and Middle East
