Ghanaian man in US arrested 3 times in 12 days over alleged sexual assaults

A 26-year-old Ghanaian man living in the United States has been arrested three times in 12 days over separate allegations of assault against women in Oklahoma City.

According to international media reports, the man, identified as Jeff Kofi Asare, is also facing a first-degree rape charge after police said he allegedly attacked a woman on the Lake Hefner Trail.

The reports indicated that Asare was first arrested on August 1, 2026, after two women accused him of separate sexual attacks near Northwest 23rd Street and Classen Boulevard.

One of the women is reported to have told the police that Asare allegedly pushed her against a bus stop window and put his hands down her pants.

Additionally, another woman who also filed her complaint said Asare approached her from behind while she was walking on Classen Boulevard, pulled down her pants, and fled after she pushed him away.

Following the reports, police arrested Asare on allegations of sexual battery and indecent exposure, but he was later released.

However, five days later, it was also reported that another woman had accused Asare of assault near Scissortail Park.

Police stated that Asare allegedly approached the woman from behind, grabbed her buttocks several times, and began digging in his pants. The woman asked him to leave, and he walked away.

Police said they later spotted him and arrested him on another sexual battery allegation. He was again released.

Six days after the second arrest, police said Asare allegedly approached another woman from behind while she was on the Lake Hefner Trail.

He allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her before nearby firefighters intervened and called the police.

Asare was subsequently arrested and is now being held in the Oklahoma County Jail on a first-degree rape charge.

Meanwhile, authorities said Asare's bond has been set at $75,000, but the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office is seeking a higher amount due to the series of incidents.

The District Attorney’s Office is reported to be reviewing at least three separate incidents involving Asare as it considers additional charges.

Reports further indicate that Asare has been arrested more than 20 times in Oklahoma County since 2022, with some of the previous cases resulting in convictions.
