Especially, if you succumb to and base your innermost self worth on the acclaim projected unto you. Many black celebrities have fallen victim to this trap along the way.

Cambridge promised support to Arday when he resigned but didn’t do a damned thing. They knew how to play the game behind his back. They knew of his vulnerabilities. They turned a blind eye when he exaggerated his personal, off-campus achievements. They let the media vultures do their thing. Unfortunately, it is not clear that his wife and mother of his two kids stepped in to provide the critical emotional support he needed.
