Remains of late Deputy NPA CEO arrive in Ghana

The remains of the late Deputy Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr Dramani Bukari, have arrived in Ghana.

The body was received at the Accra International Airport by the Minister of Energy, John Jinapor; Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo; representatives of the bereaved family; and friends and colleagues.

According to reports, the burial and other funeral rites will continue today, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Damongo in the Savannah Region.

In a social media post, the NPA described the arrival of the remains as a “solemn, grief-filled ceremony.”

The statement said the Energy Minister, the NPA Chief Executive, members of the NPA leadership, family representatives and other distinguished individuals gathered at the airport to receive the remains of Dr Dramani Bukari.

“Burial service continues in Damongo – Savannah Region tomorrow, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.,” the statement added.

The NPA expressed deep sorrow over the death of its Deputy Chief Executive, describing the loss as “so painful to bear.”

“For us at the National Petroleum Authority, this is a loss so painful to bear. It is a teeth-gnashing grief that may take forever to heal.

“A man so humble and a life so cherished and irreplaceable returns to His Maker.

“Rest on, Sir,” the statement concluded.
