I remember one time Akuffo Addo intervened and was advising Ghanaians not to yield and give even information about themselves to such scammers and pay them money to travel for employment at the Middle East because there are no such jobs.
Akuffo Addo further explained that if there should be any such jobs there, it should be between the two Governments. Ghanaians insulted Akuffo Addo even with his dimunitive height and ethnic group that Akuffo Addo just want only Asante and Akyem people to succeed and have the program. Some Ghanaians went to the Middle East by foot through unorthodox routes across the Desert. Some died on the Desert through heat. Many of the young ladies who made it through the Desert to the Middle East were turned into Sex Slaves and very much abused physically and sexually. The men were turned into Domestic Slaves doing all sorts of Menial jobs and very much Physically abused. Finally, these Ghanaians started crying and pleading for the Government to come and save them from torture and Sex Slavery. Ghanaians will not listen if the Government tells them not to go because there are no such jobs and that the recruitment is a hoax. The Government should just inform the people of Ghana that such recruitments are false and organized by crooks. If some people don't heed to the Government and go, it should be their cup of tea when cheated, ignored and abused when they get to Nigeria.
I am always disappointed and ask myself when Ghanaians will learn to be smart and not follow such scammers. When Ghanaians do not listen to the Government, they should not rely on the Government and any other benevolent people or organizations for help.
