Until desperate customers are made to pay additional bribes the meters will never be installed but they respond quickly when bribes are paid. Some date as far as February but they're yet to get their meters. Some people are able to afford fat bribes and their meters are installed in one to three days.

This loss that has occurred thru the so called Domestic Gold Purchase Program by Goldbod and Bank of Ghana is so huge, mind boggling. Itis no trivial matter. Ghana must go into it and find out with documentary evidence such as purchase receipts and invoices to acertain how the loss occurred . A loss of 1.7 billion Dollars is no joke. Unfortunately, we have a first gentleman, President Mahama, who appears completely mute over the issue. What a country, what a people!
First of all, a look at what we know so far:
1. Bank of Ghana gave a collosal amount of 133 billion cedis to Goldbod to buy gold under the Domestic Gold Purchase Program.
2. Goldbod bought the gold and delivered it to Bank of Ghana after whaever value added, assaying and ready for export or what ever.
3.Now Bank of Ghana says that the value they now get for the gold is 22 billion cedis ( 1.7 billion USD) short of the original 133 billion given to Goldbod, hence the loss amounting to 22 billion cedis..
Its important at this stage to note that a loss to one person is a gain to another. It is hard to believe that at these times of very high world market price for Gold, a gold producing country can make such huge loss of 22 billion cedis, about 17 percent of the amount invested.
The citizens of Ghana must know who gained this 22 billion cedis in this Bank of Ghana/ Goldbod gold trading. A loss to one party is a gain to another!
