Working in the B/A region in the seventies as a high school graduate with very Catholic background I was horrified at the extent of it.Young desperate middle school girls were being profusely abused in a lucrative cash crop industry by all the males from labourers to top management. I was mocked and ostracised for commenting on how wrong it was.
Then I went to teach at one of the schools and I just couldn’t handle what some of the teachers were doing to their female students. I soon left the scene altogether to go to University after futile attempts to draw attention from authorities.Surely it still goes on.
